Rosa Bell (b.1902) Biographical Entry

Born 1902. Youngest of 7 children. (4 boys, 3 girls) of a colliery clerk and dressmaker. Religious upbringing. Educated at village school. Unable to take up bursary to grammar school because of family circumstances. Married. Raised in Cumberland, moving to Doncaster in inter-war years.

Career: Apprentice Dressmaker; Housemaid; Nanny.

Attended Band of Hope Meetings; Sunday School Teacher
